Lafayette Varsity Commodores Can’t Catch Up To Hernando

Lafayette Varsity Commodores watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-0 loss to Hernando on Thursday. Hernando took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Lafayette Varsity Commodores struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Hernando, giving up six runs.

In the first inning, Hernando got their offense started. Ally Callahan drove in one when Callahan singled.

One bright spot for Lafayette Varsity Commodores was a single by Caitlyn Rhea in the fifth inning.

Madisyn Cobbs led things off in the circle for Lafayette Varsity Commodores. The hurler allowed six hits and six runs over five innings, striking out four. Taylor Styers threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Cheyenne Jones, Styers, Takiyah Shaw, Rhea, and Jordan Heuser all had one hit to lead Lafayette Varsity Commodores.
